Limestone County is home. It’s where I was raised, where I raised my family, and where I’m committed to protecting our values while responsibly managing growth, supporting law enforcement, and being a good steward of every taxpayer dollar. That is why I am asking for your vote on May 19th for Chairman of the Limestone County Commission.

Election Day: May 19th

Meet Chairman Daly

Collin Daly’s roots run deep in Limestone County. Born and raised here on the family farm, he is a second-generation public servant, his late father also served as county chairman.  Prior to being elected in 2018 he was a former technician at the Limestone County Water & Sewer Authority.  He currently serves as Vice President of the Association of County Commissions of Alabama.  He has been married to his wife Penny and they have three grandchildren.  They attend New Bethel Baptist Church.

As Chairman, Collin has focused on managing the rapid county growth and infrastructure development while maintaining the values and southern hospitality.  Despite Limestone County being the fastest growing county in the state, Collin knows that while large employers bring many jobs to the area, like Toyota Mazda, Amazon, Carpenter, and Polaris, he knows the heartbeat behind the county’s workforce is reliant on the area’s small businesses.

Under Collin’s leadership the county’s budget has increased from nearly $44 million to $50 million.  The extra $6 million will create two new departments, city planning and a recycling department which will help the county’s growth.  He understands that government should run like a business and will continue to cut the burdensome red tape bureaucracy, cut wasteful spending and make doing business with county as efficient as possible.  Raising taxes on hardworking taxpayers should never be an option and he will continue to be a steward of our tax dollars.

Collin will continue to work with state and federal leaders making sure Limestone County receives its fair share of funding from Montgomery.  Some of the major road projects include the widening Bethel Road for $960,000, intersection improvements at Highway 72/Line Road for $700,000, and SR-53 improvements for $1.3M.  He also worked with leaders to secure $1.6M in resurfacing projects for Oak Grove, Nick Davis, Pepper, Blackburn, and Cross Key Roads.

Collin has always supported law enforcement, volunteer fire departments and first responders.  Under his advisement the commission gave the Limestone County’s Sheriff’s department ten more, ten more deputy spots, two investigators, and five corrections officers.  He is also conducting a jail expansion study for future growth needs.  He recently announced that Sheriff McLaughlin will receive a well-deserved pay raise in comparison to other Sheriff’s across the state.  Collin is a strong supporter and has been vocal supporting Governor Kay Ivey’s Back the Blue Act.  He will continue to support law enforcement and fire departments making sure they have the support, resources and equipment to protect our county.

Limestone County unfortunately is familiar with severe weather, especially over recent years.  Collin led the efforts for a new lease agreement with the city of Athens for the construction of a new community storm shelter.

Limestone County is a great place to raise a family and call home.  Collin knows that firsthand and that is one of his top priorities.  He will continue to support our Senior and Recreation Centers and parks, improving our quality of life.  He will continue to fight for our conservative values and morals, keeping Limestone County just the way we like it.
